Holidays are not always celebrations....

The 4th of July holiday and all of the celebrations surrounding will never feel the same for me ever again. 2 years ago during the week of the 4th we were at the hospital with my sweet daddy and On this date I was sitting by my daddy's bedside holding his hand and saying my goodbye. In the early morning hours of July 6th, God called daddy home and my life has been changed forever. It's been a hard week so far, but today my sweet friend came by and out of the blue brought me flowers mumbling something about a late bday. I had been so sad this morning, but hadn't said anything to anybody. When she left, I looked at the flowers and just started crying like a big baby. I think it was exactly what I needed. I had been holding back the tears and was miserable. The beautiful flowers reminded me to find joy in the unexpected and to remember all the good times I was able to share with my dad. I'm going to try to be happy for the sweet memories I do have instead of sad and put my focus into creating those same sweet memories with my children. I can't promise I won't ever be sad, but I promise to try and focus on good things in my life instead of dwelling in the past.

HE is Risen!

Celebrating Easter began with Church and ended with enjoying family. Lots of laughs and jokes as the boys watched Grayson decorate some cute cupcakes for us to enjoy for dessert. We are family and I am forever blessed.

Kanon and Tyler both gladly missed out on pictures. Kanon was working and Tyler still on the mend from surgery. They missed Church also, but were here in the afternoon. I will definitely take what I can get these days as everyone is always so busy.

More spring break....

A little spring break fun...

Spring break in Orlando at Universal and Islands of Adventure. What more needs to be said? The kids had a great time and well we logged a few miles of walking each day.  I was fortunate to get to spend Monday and Tuesday with Don, Grayson and Parker, but then Tyler's surgery called me home. I flew out on a very early Wednesday morning so that I could be with Our oldest on Thursday as he had his first major surgery at 21. He needed his gallbladder removed and KSU was also on spring break so this was the time to do it. Don and the younger ones didn't miss a beat without me, and truth be told....I'm not quite sure I could have hung with them the next 2 days. They got to ride the roller coaster over and over again without my whiny scared self😊. Grayson will tell you that Harry Potter stuff did not disappoint either. I'm so happy they were able to go have a little fun and come back refreshed for the last of the school year. Grayson will pay for it at swim though, I'm sure. Her food choices were not exactly the healthiest selections.

Parkers Cross Country Season

Parker excels in something I can't imagine doing for even a minute. I am not a runner, never have been and never will be. I always tell my family if you see me running, something is definitely chasing me. Parker had a great sophomore season. He was top 6 and made varsity. He medaled more than once and the team made a weekend whirlwind trip to Orlando for a special XC Meet. The runners spent a great day at Disney to top off the trip. These are special moments that create memories for a lifetime.

Let's start with Homecoming

Homecoming 2016 was so much fun for Grayson and Parker. Grayson went with a friend and Parker escorted his best friend Vanna on Homecoming Court. The day was filled with the usual homecoming festivities ending the evening at midnight....at of course Waffle House. While Grayson and Parker are still to young to drive (you know those awkward years where they are Freshman and Sophmore and old enough to attend dances, but not quiet old enough to get themselves there) I love every minute of driving them to and from and Don and I also enjoyed dinner with them after pictures before the game.

It's finally feeling a little like Fall....

The weather this weekend has actually felt a little like Fall could be on its way. It was a little cooler so I didn't feel so crazy putting out the pumpkins and mums around the house.
I have also enjoyed using this weekend to get caught up and little better organized. Let's hope the mood stays with me through today so I can finish.
Parker has been gone to a cross country race and Disney world this weekend while Grayson has had swim practice. Kanon is working and Tyler, well who knows what he's up to now that he lives in his own place. Don and I will be complete empty nesters sooner than we think. I can't believe how grown up our children are. Grayson and Parker, our babies are gearing up this week for High School Homecoming Festivities as Parker prepares to escort his best friend on Homecoming Court and Grayson attends her first high school dance with her sweet friend. Who by the way asked her to the dance with the cutest Harry Potter Reference since his name is Harry.
 Until next time......
